Humuhumu-nukunuku-a-pua'a

Translated as "Little fish that grunts like a pig",
also known (fortunately) as Reef or Picasso Triggerfish.

Scribbled Filefish

Found world-wide, this guy has beautiful blue "scribbles".

Assorted Fish

The one in the upper left is the Raccoon Butterflyfish
known locally as Kikakapu.
Chaetodon lunula
The ones on the lower right and just behind the "raccoon"
are Moorish Idols, known locally as Kihikihi.
Zanclus cornutus
The less colorful characters are Goatfish of some type or other.


Mysterious Fish

Species undetermined, although he took
the photographs shown above!
Known locally as
"bleached fish with big glassy eyes and flat feet".
